‘Please talk to me’ he begged, ‘shout, abuse me if you want to but say something… anything…’ he held my hands in his and looked into my eyes with a plea in his, whether it was sincere I guess I will not find out.
We stood outside the gate of the estate I lived in, my neighbours going in and out casting us long looks with suspicion in their eyes, can people try not to judge situations without knowing the full gist.
He caressed my cheek with so much feeling but I remained numb.
‘I know I promised not to do anything stupid which I did and I’m sorry, it’s that you are very tempting that’s all.’
Is that what you have to say? I caused you to fool around?! I thought, still I didn’t say anything, tears stung my eyes as I stared longingly at the window to my self-contained flat on the middle floor and sighed. I needed to cry out my pain and disappointment, in private.
‘Have you forgiven me?’ He asked again still holding on to my hand tightly.
‘I need to go inside Black, before the gates are locked for the night’ I told him and pried my hands free. He pulled me close and put his arms around me.
‘I’m sorry for what happened earlier this night, and I promise to make it up to you, to earn back your trust. That can only happen if you give me a chance’ he whispered to me and I stiffened. He pecked me on my lips and as I turned to go in he called me back, ‘I hope when you see me in school on Monday you won’t act like you’ve never spoken to me or like we’ve beefing. I’ll call you tomorrow, okay? Please pick up’.
When I entered my room I tried crying but the tears refused to come out, guess I depleted my reserve at his place. I fell asleep while trying to sort my emotions out.
Morning came but his call never came.
